Hummus Recipe So Easy and Fast!! |
| |
|
| Ingredients
- Chickpea(Canned chckpea will be easy.
Dried chickpea will taste better!)
- Tahini
- Lemon juice
- Olive oil
- Garlic (if you like)
- Ginger
- Spices such as Cumin, Coliander,
Blackpepper and so on.
Direction
Process chickpea, grinded garlic and ginger,
tahini, olive oil. You can adjust the texture of hummus
with water. Process it until it gets as smooth as mashed
potato!
When it gets smooth, add lemon juice
and spices. That' all!
I sometimes use peanutbutter instead
of tahini. You can put soysauce instead of salt. It
tastes like sea urchin?? You can have it with steamed
rice! If you don't have chickpea, soybeans or kidney
beans or butter beans will be fine. Just enjoy cooking,
and the hummus will taste great!!
Let's try sandwiches with hummus and your
favorite vegetables! Mayonaise is good with hummus!
Burdock salad with mayonaise goes well with hummus!
Smooth hummus and hard burdock...yumm! |

You can get all the ingredients at a grocery
store. It may be difficult to find chickpea
or tahini in Japan, but you'll find them
at international grocery store or ethnic
grocery store. For example, Natural House
in Omotesand, Kinokuniya in Omotesando,
and International Super Market in Azabu.
I
found packed chickpeas and red kidney beans.
Canned chickpea will be a big trash. I recommend
packed one because it's easy to open and
throw out.
What's TAHINI?
This is Tahini, paste of sesami! You can
get it at international super maket in Azabu.
980yen. You'll find dried chickpeas too.
They have lots of imported stuff.

Dried chickpea! I got them in Tukiji market!
You can find more than 20 kinds of beans
there! They gave me a panphlet of how to
cook dried beans. You can try some beans
there!

This is sandwich of batard. I put hummus and lettuce,
tomato, and bazil! It's Mediterranean style! I
put lemon juice, salt, blackpepper, bazil, ginger
powder, and olive oil. Very simple! Batard itself
has its taste, so I didn't put too much of spices.
I love the scents of herbs and olive oil!!

Hummus is of course soft, so it is good with hard
bread, I think. French bread comes with hummus
perfectly!
This hummus looks like tuna,
because of kidney beans. Add more olive oil, and
it tastes and smells like French style! Don't
put too much of spices which have strong taste,
such as cumin and corriander.
The important tip is to serve warm bread and cold
hummus. Don't forget water in case hummus is so
good that you may eat it too fast!
